Form 1099-MISC - Independent Contractors

1099-MISC reports quite a few things to the IRS, namely, "payments for services performed for a trade or business by people not treated as its employees," so they are aware of a wide variety* of transactions which may or may not be taxable.

Make sure to use the red ink version (Copy A) of the official form because the IRS doesn't accept plain paper printouts.
